Day 7 Further mechanical adjustments
Early in the morning at Sydney Drives. These are the guys that can modify the axle between the wheels and the gearbox: the drive-shaft re-fitter. Two parts have to be combined to make the adjustment. The wheel side of the axle is from the original part, it has ABS on it which we want to keep. And the other side is needed because we changed the gearbox in the Mazda 3 model and that has a slightly different size. Problem is that even the re-fitter is not able to combine it because the connection part is not compatible. The solution is a new ABS part that fits on both sides.
Next job is to complete some missing bolts and nuts and prepare the steering pump. For the pump the high pressure hose is most important. Today the high pressure hose is connected. The low pressure hose, a longer version, has to be acquired.
